Norton is one of the largest anti-virus companies extinct there. Their product is acclaimed and used by a astonishing number of people. However from my own have with using Norton, and most late Norton AntiVirus 2008, I am left wing asking, wherefore?

While many people applaud the level of warnings and alerts that Norton provides and the comprehensiveness of it’s signature database, I on the other hand, own often set up that it was sort of intrusive, particularly if you happen to let your subscription lapse. I’ve got a quite herculean computer only a year old, Norton is the only thing that seems to genuinely slow it down.

As one redeeming feature, it’s user interface is pretty, though the other options seem sort of superfluous… In the end, hogs resources, provides a fairly criterion level of protection, and tenaciously asserts it’s self onto your desktop.

Great Warning System I downloaded this program the other night as part of the 2008 Norton Security System package. Symantec seem to have made several improvements to the software. Aside from the fact you have to completely reload Norton, as it testament not update older versions, the instalment was passably straight forth after I had ironed out a few problems with the package as a hale. One of the best improvements is a large box which appears on the toolbar at the bottom of Windows. If your virus definitions are not up to date a declamatory red traverse appears until you have used live update, at which point it turns to a green tick. It is easy enough to conform the settings to automatically download updates but, if for whatsoever reason, users did non want to take this option I thought it was a great alerting to the fact your system could be at risk. Spyware Doctor 5.0 scanned my PC at breakneck speed and returned quite impressive results. It has all the common spyware detector tools plus some extras. As well as detection Trojans and malicious hijackers it likewise detects keyloggers and adbots.
